Project Overview

Hyatt Regency Montreal is located in the heart of the city’s cultural district and connected to Complexe Dejardins, an upmarket mix of shops, restaurants, and offices. The client developed a master plan that would transform the entire hotel, expanding PDSI’s role in evaluating, managing, monitoring, and coordinating the project.

What began as a refresh for nearly 600 guest rooms grew to updating banquet and meeting rooms, revamping the lobby and bar, and converting the roof into a stylish bar overlooking the city. The comprehensive scope of the job presented multiple challenges, but having worked with PDSI on previous jobs, the client trusted us implicitly. Our team brought added value by evaluating and executing on a series of critical decisions that improved logistical issues, allocated appropriate resources and devised strategies to ensure that hotel operations proceeded smoothly, and delivered exactly what hotel ownership desired for this property.

Beyond confidence in our own competence, this job took courage. PDSI’s team leapt into a job where many workers spoke only French and strict union rules applied to all tradespeople. Fortunately, PDSI often works internationally and was able to easily adapt and navigate the environment to realize the client’s ambitious goals.
