Project Overview
Our client came to PDSI with a unique project precipitated by a powerful earthquake that had rattled through northern California and damaged the Andaz Napa. PDSI was called upon to assess in detail the extent of damage and the requisite costs of restoring the luxury boutique hotel to full and safe operation.
The 6.0 earthquake had created cracks in the building façade, flooding in the hotel restaurant and varying levels of damage in 141 guest rooms, each unique in size, layout and furnishings. No two rooms were alike—adding significantly to the complexity of the work required to get the hotel back to revenue-generating status.
PDSI’s ability to quickly understand our client’s goals and successfully act on them was critical to moving quickly towards full operations. We acted as liaison with the insurance carrier, as well as an intermediary between the owner, general contractor and the purchasing agent, completing all documentation and coordinating all functions directed at getting repairs underway and completed ASAP.
Thanks to our team’s expertise and commitment—working around the clock, 7 days a week—the Andaz Napa was able to partially reopen in only four months and resumed full operations three months later in March, 2015. As with every project, we work hard to excel at what we do and to provide a level of service second to none.
